Ovogodišnji Cannes Film Festival u svom 72. idanju donosi mnoštvo kvalitetnih filmova i još poznatijih filmskih autora. Iako je najavljivano da će Quentin Tarantino sa svojim devetim filmom Once Upon A Time In... Hollywood učestvovati na Festivalu to se ipak neće desiti. Ista situacija je i sa filmom Little Women Grete Gerwig, koji je također najavljivan za Cannes. U svakom slučaju, u konkurenciji će se naći Xavier Dolan (Matthias & Maxime), Jim Jarmusch (The Dead Don’t Die), Pedro Almodóvar (Glory and Gloria), Terrence Malick (A Hidden Life), Ken Loach (Sorry We Missed You)...
